We developed the business organically, step by step. I bought the first high-quality dental unit at the age of 21, and I still remember how much it cost me: 200,000,000 (old Romanian Lei), in 2002. My husband, Nuțu Toader, joined the company later, in 2004, to be exact. At that time, neither of us were doctors, and we viewed the business from two perspectives: the entrepreneur’s perspective, wanting the business to grow, to offer quality services to our patients, and to make a profit. At that moment, profit meant income minus expenses, simple as that.
We didn’t understand why one doctor would use more materials than another for the same procedure, for example, because we saw these things as clear and mathematical; and then there was the moral perspective: we both had the desire to do good for the patients. We constantly took into account patient feedback, and based on it, we continuously improved our services, which we still do today.
In 2006, we both enrolled in the Faculty of Dentistry, and from that point on, things changed radically because, finally, we understood the medical perspective and were able to develop the services qualitatively, exactly in the direction we wanted – a vision where patient trust and the relationship between them and the doctor are paramount
